Benefits of Membership Why join the Huntsville Ski Club?  Some reasons that come to mind... Cost savings Safety in numbers Camaraderie with friends Fun... 'More the merrier' Convenience... 'Go HSC and leave the trip planning to us' Trip leaders take care of all the details... air travel, ground transportation, lodging, lift tickets for ski trips, equipment rental, after hours activities, and trip party; allowing you to concentrate on having fun skiing, biking, hiking and even tennis play, or an excursions to the Florida beaches.  The Huntsville Ski Club has a very busy social and recreational calendar, including many cookouts, special holiday parties, and regular social get-togethers.  We are a year around club so..."It's not all about skiing"  See About Us for more details. The Flakey News is the club newsletter published monthly to provide the membership with up to date information and a personal perspective on what activities and events are up coming. Ski trips usually include 10-50 people with a wide variety of interests and skiing abilities. Trips are generally mixed with couples and singles, and skiing level is also mixed, from beginner to expert, with most skiers falling in the intermediate category.  Non-skiers can be found on our trips just to enjoy the camaraderie and the destination. Sharing the experience is why members choose to vacation with HSC.  Each trip normally includes a pre-trip party hosted by the trip leader, an opening party at the lodge or a local restaurant; and for our ski trips, lunch slope side each day and meeting points on the slopes.  This means that there are lots of opportunities to socialize and ski or bike or hike with others at your level.  Of course, you are free to share in activities or not.  Members keep coming back to HSC preplanned trips because of the friendly, relaxed atmosphere and the great destinations.  As a non-profit club, our trip leaders bargain with travel agents and lodging companies to pass along savings to our members.  ...And because we focus on resort destination, our trips are not always the most economical, but our trips offer a unique ski and travel experience to top-quality destinations. Membership has its privileges in the Huntsville Ski Club as members enjoy the benefits of the Crescent Ski Council, made up of sister ski clubs in the southeastern United States.  Due to this association, both HSC and associated CSC members can participate in ALL associated club activities.
