Ride the "Ridges..."

...And through the "Hollers" of beautiful South-Central Tennessee. It's mostly downhill [ya, sure, that is what they all say...] and only about one hour's ride to the pristine village of Lynchburg, TN, home of Jack Daniel's Whiskey and some of the finest Bluegrass Music and BBQ pork sandwiches in the nation.

I haven't attempted to ski for years, but recently I decided to take another stab at it. I was hoping they'd done something about the gravity problem.  Gravity is the biggest drawback to skiing. Without gravity, it would be a carefree activity: You'd put on your skis, head for the slopes and just . . . HOVER for a while. Then it would be time for ``apres ski''

(French for ''no longer skiing''). Instead, you have gravity. Huge amounts of it. Ski areas are located smack dab on top of giant gravity piles called ``mountains.''  Most areas also use machines to make more gravity at night. Thus powerful forces are always trying to suck you, the skier, down the mountain and into large fixed objects such as buildings.  This is why the Number One Rule of Skiing Safety is: ``Never go up the mountain without a good reason, such as it is summer.''

Many of us would like to see, get to, or find "just" the information that we are looking for without the extra web content that is provided as quick links- helpful if we were more web-based socially interactive.  That stuff hanging on the left and right of the information that we really want to see easily.  But sometimes I want just what I want, and I am sure many of you are the same.  So, if you are looking for "Just..." then members can log on and start looking for menu links that start with "Just", like "Just Ski News", "Just HSC Ski Trips", or "Just Our Events".  All links within the MyAccount link are striped of extra applications so you will have more screen realestate to view the primary information - the important stuff.  These links do not have the "Just" tag.  Continue to look for the "Just..." links for slimmer, trimmer, faster links.
