RACING

  1. Crescent Racing had to cancel the first race of the season due to warm temperatures and the lack of snow.  Crescent Racers will be hitting the race course January 7th and 8th at Sugar Mountain.  Practice gates will be set-up at Appalachian Mountain Friday night January 6th.  Each club race director has detailed information concerning both events.  Please support your club race team and purchase the products our sponsors offer.  Crescent Racing is second to none in ski council racing programs.
  2. Subaru has cancelled the VIP program with Crescent.  If you have not removed all references of the Subaru VIP program from your club media, please do so.
  3. Crescent Racing will have race gate training each Friday night before a scheduled North Carolina race weekend.  The gate training is open to all Crescent members.  We will not be timing the participants' runs on a regular schedule but it could happen if we have the Crescent personnel available.  The gate training will occur at Appalachian Mountain from 7:30pm to 9:30pm each Friday night before a Crescent, North Carolina race weekend.  Lift tickets are $22 and the training fee is $10.  Participants should pay for their lift ticket and training fee at the French-Swiss counter in the lower level ski school section.  If a Crescent member is going to Appalachian to ski, the Friday night of gate training and they do not wish to gate train, they may purchase a discounted lift ticket at the F-S ski school counter in the lower level.  While gate training is going on for Crescent Racers and the desiring-to-be Crescent Racers, French-Swiss will offer a one-hour workshop for only $18.  Any Crescent member who does not want to run gates but would like to refresh their skiing skills, this workshop is a great deal and a good way to tune-up your skiing skills. Sign-up for the workshop will be at the F-S counter in the lower level.
  4. Crescent Racing builds character, and promotes good sportsmanship.  Support your race team and get your club members and community involved.

ADMINISTRATIVE

  1. EXComm discussed the possibility of making donations to a charity.  When I attended  the NSCF meeting in September, CSC was the only council that does not support a charity.....most of our  clubs do support various charities.  I asked for a committee of volunteers to:   discuss the feasibility, how to get the money, how this ties into CSC’s purpose, suggestions for charities etc.,  **I have 2 volunteers but need 2 more with someone agreeing to be the Chair.  A report would need to be completed by April 1, 2013.**  Please let me know if you can chair this committee or be a member.
  2. The NSCF is currently undergoing a complete make-over.  Some things are accessible but others are not.  Please be patient.  Remember to check out all the benefits that NSCF offers to member councils/clubs.  New benefits have been added.
